The marriage between AC Milan striker Alvaro Morata and wife Alice Campello is said to have broken down as they celebrated Spain's Euro 2024 victory.

WHAT HAPPENED?
The forward and Campello confirmed in August that they were separating after seven years of marriage, just weeks after the couple celebrated on the field with their children after Spain beat England in the Euro 2024 final in Germany.
According to Spanish journalist Alexia Rivas, the tension between the two reached its pinnacle when they had an argument on the field as Morata and his La Roja team-mates celebrated their latest success. Rivas says that Campello only wanted herself, Morata, their children and her friends to be on the field for the festivities, demanding the player's parents and family be left out, which set of an explosion in the marriage. The journalist adds that there are no signs the pair could reconcile and that lawyers are currently working on their divorce papers.

Morata and Campello will go through divorce proceedings while the 31-year-old continues to settle in at his new club AC Milan. The player will miss Spain's upcoming Nations League matches due to injury and will hope to be back in action when Milan meet Venezia on September 14.
