The midfielder's poor pass in the 65th minute saw Burnley take possession and the Swiss international made a rash challenge on Steven Defour, forcing referee Jon Moss to decide he had to go. Luckily, Arsenal were already 1-0 up.
Xhaka had previously been sent off in October's 3-2 win over Swansea City, with Moss being the man to give him his marching orders then too.
This just became a lot more difficult... Xhaka is shown a straight red for a foul on Defour #AFCvBFC 1-0 (65)— Arsenal FC (@Arsenal) January 22, 2017
That he has now been suspended with his second red card in just 20 Premier League encounters could raise some concerns for Arsene Wenger.
5 - Since the start of last season, Granit Xhaka has had more red cards than any other player in the big 5 Euro leagues. Reckless.— OptaJoe (@OptaJoe) January 22, 2017
However, he has collected only two yellow cards in the league this season, with Shkodran Mustafi leading the way in the club's charts with four bookings to his name.
Xhaka, though, is the only Arsenal player to have been sent off in the league this term.
