Tony Wilson is hopeful that Kwara United will make a meaningful impact in the Nigeria Professional Football League this season.
Joh Obuh’s men suffered their second defeat against MFM FC on Wednesday at Agege Stadium, no thanks to Adebayo Waheed’s sole effort.
Though displeased that they left Lagos without a single point, the player has backed the newly promoted side to make giant strides in the league as they aim to remain in the top-flight.
“It is a very good game. We aimed for three points but unfortunately it didn’t happen,” Wilson told Goal.
“It is just two games played and I believe that we will surprise many in the league.
“We have a good coach, good management and good players. I believe we can achieve a lot and make an impact in the league as we want to remain in the Premier League.
“Today’s game is quite different from the first game we played. We have adjusted and improved and I assure you we will continue to be better. NPFL is a different ball game entirely from the NNL."
The Harmony Warriors will visit Ifeanyi Uba for their next clash on Sunday and Wilson is hopeful that his side will not return to Ilorin empty-handed.
“We have an away game against Ifeanyi Ubah we will see what we can do. We lost our first game at home and I believe we can also win away from home. We will do everything possible to win the game,” he concluded.
