Vihiga United leads the tier on 35 points though they have a superior goal difference. Joe Waithira's brace and a goal from Pistone Mutamba was enough to hand Wazito their 11th win from 16 matches in one of the six mid-week matches played on Wednesday.

Mutamba gave Wazito the lead in the first half before providing an assist for Wazito’s second goal, scored by Waithira.

The bankers, who were relegated to the lower tier in 2015, suffered their fifth defeat this season and are currently fifth on 31 points after 16 rounds of matches.

The two sides met last weekend in the GOtv Cup round of 32 where Wazito knocked out the bankers on penalties after both sides played a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
