WATCH: Can Mourinho best Conte? The Goal Pressure Index Week Six

15:00 EAT 10/03/2017
Goal and Sure have partnered to create the Pressure Index, the only way to measure how players are handling the stress of the most competitive league

This Monday the FA Cup will see six of the top 10 performers in the Goal Pressure Index go head-to-head in the clash of the round as Chelsea host Manchester United.

The Goal Pressure index, presented by Sure and powered by Opta data, provides the first ever system to measure and rate a team and player’s performance under pressure.

It utilises more than 750,000 data points as well as factors including league position, point in the season and the opposition to calculate a rating out of 100 for every Premier League player each week.

And so, with a Wembley semi-final on offer, both managers at Stamford Bridge will know they have the tools to unpick their opponents.

When the two sides last met in London, runaway Premier League leaders Chelsea blew away former manager Jose Mourinho’s side 4-0, when Pedro bagged himself a juicy Pressure Index score of 94.

In the week’s other standout fixture, Arsenal will hope for some relief after what’s been a pretty rotten year so far.

Dumped out of the Champions League and currently sitting outside the Premier League’s qualification places for next year, manager Arsene Wenger is under more pressure than he's ever felt during his 20-year reign at the club.

Elsewhere, Middlesbrough will hope to shake off the pressure of a relegation battle which has seen them go 433 Premier League minutes without a goal by raising their performance against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
