USA v Brazil Betting Preview: Latest odds, team news, preview and predictions

Brazil visit the United States for the fourth time in eight years, with the five time world champions aiming to record another friendly victory.

Their last two trips have brought 4-1 wins for La Canarinha, and they are firm favourites against a USA side who had the summer off following their failure to qualify for the World Cup.

Latest odds

Brazil have contested five friendlies against the USA since 2001 and won all five, so it's no surprise that SportPesa price them at just 5/14 (1.35) to triumph on North American soil once again.

Dave Sarachan's team are priced at 25/4 (7.25) to claim what would be an eye-catching victory with the interim manager in charge, while a draw can be backed at 15/4 (4.75).

Team news

There are some notable absentees from the Brazil squad as Gabriel Jesus and Marcelo both left out by coach Tite, but there call ups for Manchester United's Andreas Pereira and Liverpool's Fabinho.

The USMNT are without Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic as the 19-year-old struggles with a muscular injury.

Preview

Tite has claimed that he wants to try different tactics in the forthcoming friendlies against the USA and El Salvador, and as both are considerably below Brazil's level, these matches could prove a useful time to experiment.

Defensively the South Americans have shown themselves to be extremely solid in non-competitive matches, keeping five clean sheets in their last five friendlies and conceding just two goals in their last ten.

With Brazil perhaps fielding a more experimental line-up, there is a chance we see a slightly less comprehensive victory than we have done in their previous visits.

Tips and predictions

Brazil to win and under 3.5 goals in the game is priced at 20/21 (1.95) and this looks like a solid option.

Indeed this selection has paid out in all four of the friendlies that Tite's side have contested in 2018 and is once again a strong angle from which to approach the clash.
