'Unstoppable' - Koscielny warns Liverpool of Ozil form

Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil is approaching the form of his life ahead of the Premier League visit of Liverpool, according to defender Laurent Koscielny.

After an uncertain summer, the World Cup winner has emerged as a central figure under Unai Emery's stewardship.

Ozil has scored three goals in his last five Premier League outings, with his shining moment coming in the 3-1 win over Leicester City .

Having netted the equaliser just before the break, the ex-Real Madrid man played a threaded pass for Hector Bellerin, who set up Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to put the Gunners ahead for the first time.

He then finished off a flowing Arsenal attack by teeing up Aubameyang for the third goal with a mesmeric flick over goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.

And with title contenders Liverpool next on the agenda, injured centre-back Koscielny has warned the Merseysiders Ozil is in "unstoppable" form.

"Mesut’s deserved all the plaudits he got after his performance against the Foxes,’ said the France international.

"He was incredible. His goal bailed us out before the break and then his pass for Hector on our second goal is the best ball you will see all season.

"And he added an assist for Auba after a great dummy and understanding with [Alexandre] Lacazette.

"When Mesut is in this form, he is unstoppable and makes us win. He has extraordinary qualities.

"There are not many players like him in the world right now capable of producing a pass the like for Hector, beating four opposition players with just one ball.

"His display on that night will stay in people’s minds for a very long time. It is a case of 'I was there when Ozil had that performance against Leicester.'

"However, he needs to be at this level as much as possible this season. Great players are the ones playing at their best the whole season."

Arsenal are unbeaten in 13 matches ahead of the visit of Jurgen Klopp's side - a run of form that seen them climb to fourth in the Premier League table.
