Tusker - Bandari Preview: Nkata comes face to face with former side

10:01 EAT 02/07/2017
Boniface Muchiri of Tusker.
Tusker collected four points from the Dockers last season, winning 1-0 in Mombasa before drawing 1-1 in return match

It is the first time coach Paul Nkata is facing his former side, the side he led to the eleventh league title.

It is a complete different story for these two clubs as far as the Kenyan Premier League is concerned. Bandari started the league well but lost it somewhere along the way, with Tusker starting badly but managed to turn things around.

Currently, the brewers top the standings with 28 points while the Dockers lie ninth on 19. George Nsimbe's side come into the match as favourites considering they have won six, drawn four and lost just two of their last matches against the coastal-based club. Ugandan striker Dan Sserunkuma will play no further part in the dockers’ team after decamping for the Moroccan league.

TuskerDavid Mwangi made a relatively solid debut against Kariobangi Sharks and he will be a man to beat on the left. New signing Boniface Muchiri might make his debut, and with his current form, expect magic.

BandariFelly Mulumba has to stand tall and ensure the brewers attackers do not find way past Wilson Obungu in goal. With Dan Sserunkuma out, it is an opportunity for Jacob Keli to show what he has to do for his team.
