Jiangsu Suning are competing for the top spot in the Chinese Super League (CSL) standings after 11 rounds. They are only four points adrift of Shanghai SIPG who are sitting pretty on the perch.
The big-spending team Suning had pinned their hopes before the season began on costly acquisitions like Ramires or Alex Teixeira. But their policy of integrating their own academy graduates with stars has paid dividends.
One to stand out among that mix of youth graduates is winger Zichang Huang. The right winger has become integral to the coach's plans and has cemented a starting spot in only his first season in the senior team.
A return of five goals and two assists is just vindication of Cosmin Olaroiu's faith in the 21-year-old. He is also the second-highest Chinese goalscorer in the CSL right now, behind Wu Lei.
On May 26th, he was also called up to the national team by coach Marcelo Lippi.
It is no wonder that Zichang Huang is our Rising Star of the Month.
