According to local media reports, Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Andile Jali was arrested for domestic violence on Monday.
The Brazilians star allegedly vandalised his wife, Nonhle Ndala's car after an altercation in their household on the same day.
The reports suggests that the midfield maestro was involved in a brawl with his wife at their residence in Pretoria and the wife has since opened a case of assault.
It is also reported that the former Orlando Pirates player tried to escape, but he bumped into a neighbour's car whilst his wife was taken to a police station to report the incident.
Moreover, the owner of the car has reportedly opened a case against the former KV Oostende midfielder and he was arrested upon his return later that day.
The club is yet to release a statement on the matter.
According to media reports, Boschkop police spokesman Yeroboam Mbatsane has since confirmed that cases of assault relating to domestic violence and malicious damage to property were opened on Monday.
Jali has since been released on bail and his case will again sit on December 6 following his brief appearance in court on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the South African Police Services (SAPS) also confirmed that the Matatiele-born star opened a case of assault against his wife, Nonhle.
Meanwhile, the reports emerge as the Bafana Bafana international is slowly returning his old form at club level since his return from Europe before the start of the current PSL season, and it remains unclear if he will be available for their Telkom knockout Cup clash against Baroka this weekend.
