Having been eliminated in the group stages of the Mapinduzi Cup, Simba will now turn focus to the league with a clash on Thursday at the Uhuru Dar es Salaam Stadium against Singida United, a game which is expected to be tough on both sides.
Simba who currently sit at the top of the League with 26-points from 12 matches will face a Singida United side which has been on form under Coach Hans van der Pluijm since the start of the season.
Simba care taker Coach, Masoud Djuma, has said he recognizes the quality of their opponents, especially after their impressive run in the Mapinduzi Cup, he went further to explain that he expects to face a tough match and will set up his squad in a way they can achieve maximum points from the match.
Djuma said their preparations they have had for the game since last Friday have helped them to return to their level after their dismal showing in the Mapinduzi tournament, and the players have already grown accustomed to the 3-5-2 system.
Singida United Coach, Van der Pluijm says he respects Simba because it is a great team and has a good record of only losing once since the start of this season but his team will fight to make sure they win.
The three new signings in the recently closed transfer window, Danny Lyanga, Kambale Salita and Lubinda Mundia and center back Malik Antir from Ghana have made Van der Pluijm confident of victory in the game and knows winning the game can take them to second place.
Coach Pluijm prefers a 4-4-2 system which he has promised to deploy in the game and he is confident he will be able nullify Simba’s 3-5-2 system.
