Ghana and Alanyaspor midfielder Isaac Sackey has assured supporters of victory when the Black Stars lock horns with Ethiopia in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The 23-year-old, who was handed a debut call-up by coach Kwesi Appiah, is likely to feature in the game after his impressive performance at training and in a 6-1 thrashing of lower-tier side Asokwa Deportivo on Wednesday.
“We have been getting lots of encouragements and supports from Ghanaians ahead of the big match and I believe come Sunday the fans will be super by filling the stadium in their numbers to support us to beat Ethiopia,” Sackey told Sportsworldghana.com.
“Every player needs inspiration in football and efforts like what we've witnessed in Kumasi inspired us a lot ahead of the crucial game.
“The most important thing for us now is to win on Sunday and I want to assure Ghanaians that we will record the victory needed to start the Afcon qualifiers on a brighter note," he added.
Ethiopia are currently in Kumasi to continue preparations ahead of Sunday.
