AFC Leopards head coach Rodolfo Zapata has lauded his charges for an excellent display in the Shield Cup quarter final match against Police FC.

The defending champions recorded a 4-1 win to progress to the semi-finals of the competition where they will play Ulinzi Stars, who defeated River Plate by the same margin. Zapata says he is impressed with the level of commitment by the players and he hopes it will work for his team in the future assignments.

“My job is to help the team create chances and in every game we do create ten or so chances to score. That is now up to individual performance by the players and I am happy that it went good against Police. Every player gave absolutely everything and we are happy to progress.

“I hope this international break will help us get a few of those injured players back and ready for Posta Rangers,” Zapata told Goal.

On Sunday, Tusker FC will play Sofapaka as Gor Mahia takes on Kariobangi Sharks.
