The agency representing the Wales international midfielder have refuted claims that their client is seeking to become a top earner at Emirates Stadium

Aaron Ramsey has not demanded £300,000-a-week ($390,000) during contract extension talks with Arsenal, claims the agency representing the midfielder.

The Wales international is yet to commit to fresh terms at Emirates Stadium despite being locked in discussions regarding a new deal.

As a result, he has entered the final 12 months of his current agreement and could drop into the free agent pool next summer.

Arsenal remain determined to ensure that does not happen, with further negotiations planned.

They are, however, having to fend off mounting transfer talk and rumours of excessive demands from the Ramsey camp.

The 27-year-old has been linked with Premier League rivals Liverpool and Chelsea of late, with those outside of north London aware that the Gunners may be forced into a sale.

It is likely that any new contract, wherever it is signed, will be a lucrative one for a proven performer at the very highest level.

Avid Sports and Entertainment Group have made it clear, though, that Ramsey is not looking to force Arsenal’s hand by asking to become a top earner at the club.

Quizzed on social media as to whether there is any truth in reports of a £300,000-a-week question being asked of the Gunners, Avid offered a blunt response.

Ramsey has been with Arsenal since 2008.

Since joining from Cardiff, he has made 327 appearances for the Gunners and netted 58 goals.

His versatility proved to be a useful asset for Arsene Wenger, as he operated across a number of midfield posts, with Unai Emery now looking to make the most of his creative ability.

Ramsey has been touted as potential future captain at the Emirates, but he needs to bring an end to the uncertainty surrounding his future if such a standing is to be secured.
