Orlando Pirates will reportedly register Nigeria Under-23 international Emmanuel Daniel with the Premier Soccer League (PSL).

The goalkeeper joined Buccaneers during the recent January Transfer Window from Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) side Enugu Rangers.

It was reported that the talented shot-stopper had signed a pre-contract with Bucs as his deal with Rangers was suppose to end in June, 2017.

However, Nigerian website, has revealed that Daniel’s contract with Rangers expired at the end of last year.

Rangers general manager Christian Chukuwu did not confirm if Daniel, who has been training with Bucs, had left the club on a free transfer.

“It has also been suggested that the goalkeeper ran out of contract at the Flying Antelopes at the end of last season, meaning he can join a new employer even when the window is closed, and Chukwu has vowed to clear the air in the next one week,” the Nigerian website stated.

It is said that Daniel will fill the foreign space left after the departure of Ghana international Edwin Gyimah, who was released by Bucs on Thursday.

Siyabonga Mpontshane is the only fit and available Bucs goalkeeper with Jackson Mabokgwane and Brighton Mhlongo suspended and injured respectively.

Daniel could be on the bench when Bucs face Cape Town City in a league game at the Cape Town Stadium in the Mother City on Saturday.
