The 2018 Kenyan Premier League leading scorer Elvis Rupia has scooped the KPL player of the Month for April.
Rupia, who has 12 league goals in 16 appearances, beat Zoo FC duo of Michael Madoya and Nicholas Kipkurui to scoop the monthly gong.
The striker hit four goals in the month of April same as the duo, but the Nzoia Sugar striker was picked ahead of the rest.
The Harambee Stars trialist challenged pursuers in the goal scoring log to catch him if they could. “I am very happy to be honoured for what I do on the pitch and hopefully this will spur greater effort from me.
"I could not have achieved this without the support of my teammates and club officials so I dedicate this to them as well. I don't know who is going to win the golden boot race this year but I will surely give my best for the rest of the season to claim it. It would be another fulfilled dream.
"There are already fruits of scoring goals like getting a call up to the national team but there is still plenty of work to be done so that I actually earn a cap.”
His performance earned him two points more that Kipkurui, who came second with 17 points. Madoya, the reigning Kenyan Premier League Most Valuable Player, came third after garnering 15 points.
