Mohamed Salah has been named Liverpool Player of the Month for October.
Salah enjoyed a record-breaking month in October by becoming the fastest man ever to score 50 goals for the Reds.
After a disappointing Uefa Champions League loss to Napoli and a goalless draw against Manchester City earlier in the month under review, Salah returned from the international break with the match-winning goal against Huddersfield Town at the John Smith Stadium followed by a brace against Red Star Belgrade and another effort in Cardiff City’s 4-1 thumping.
The Egyptian thumped Xherdan Shaqiri and Georginio Wijnaldum who finished second and third in the poll to clinch the award for the eighth time since he joined the Merseyside club in June 2017.
“I’ve said before in interviews, it’s always a good feeling to play and score at Anfield,” Salah told club website.
“The record I have at home is great and I really enjoy playing at Anfield a lot.
“I’m looking forward to reaching 100 goals for Liverpool! Let’s see what happens, but there are many targets to try to aim for before then - first to try to win something for the club, to achieve something and continue winning games.
“Those things are more important than 100 goals.”
