The Yellow and Mauve ended the Academy Boys' 46-match unbeaten run which will bring better motivation, according to the coach

Medeama coach Samuel Boadu has heaped praise on his players following a 2-1 victory over Wafa in matchday six of the Ghana Premier League on Wednesday.

Kwesi Donsu and Justice Blay scored a goal each to end Wafa's 46-game unbeaten home record, dating back to January 2015.

"I'm certainly elated with this victory because it will give the team enough motivation. It was a perfect game even though we conceded the first goal but we came back to score two incredible goals," Boadu told Time FM.

"We played good possessive football and my players showed character, commitment and confidence in their play even after conceding. We deserved to win and we're delighted because Wafa had gone 46 games without a defeat prior to this game.

"I believe that we will not stop picking such important victories in our run to achieve the target we have set for ourselves. We stopped Kotoko and now Wafa so a lot of other inspiring results will continue," he added.

Medeama have moved two places up to second position with 10 points, three points behind Ashanti Gold, with one game outstanding.
