Ghana coach James Kwesi Appiah reckons that Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko’s constant changing of coaches is not helping their quests for success.

The two clubs have hired and fired several coaches in recent years, with the latest happening only last week.

The Phobians and Porcupine Warriors made headlines for sacking their coaches a day apart, both casualties having held their roles for not more than a year.

“I am not saying that when they stick to one coach, they will win but the bottom line is they’ve kept changing for all these years and it has yielded no results, so why do you stick to something that doesn’t bring any result?” Appiah told Starr Sports

“When you change a coach, you need to have time for the coach to prepare the team.

“But let’s be frank: do Kotoko and Hearts of Oak have time for that? It’s a big no!

“When it comes to Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, the [penchant for] changing coaches has been with them for years.

“It is important they take a look at this behaviour and rather stick to one coach and give him a long time frame, like two or three years, and see what he can do, instead of the rampant changes."

Hearts and Kotoko are the most successful teams in the history of Ghana Premier League, having won the title on 20 and 23 occasions respectively.
