Asante Kotoko will hope to return to winning ways on Wednesday when second-placed Aduana Stars come visiting on matchday 13 of the Ghana Premier League at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The Porcupine Warriors had a better start to the season after picking 13 points in their opening five games but their recent performances have taken a nosedive. They have gone five games without a victory, including defeats to Hearts of Oak, Medeama and Wa All Stars, leading to the sacking of coach Zdravko Lugarusic.

Club legend Frimpong Manso has been appointed as new caretaker coach, taking over from assistant Godwin Ablordey and his first assignment was a success. Kotoko eliminated BYF Academy in the round 64 of the FA Cup on Sunday and Manso will hope to build on that to pick his first league victory.

"We are gradually putting pieces together and I believe everything will be okay very soon," Manso told Goal.

"Our next game is against Aduana Stars but I have confidence that we will end our winless run in that game. We won our FA Cup game and they were stunned by Eleven Wonders so we have to take advantage of their current situation and make something out," he added.

Aduana striker Derrick Sasraku is optimistic of upsetting Kotoko and has promised to score against them.

"I will score a goal against Kotoko on Wednesday and it is something that would definitely happen," Sasraku told Ashh FM.

"I believe we can pick at least one point at Baba Yara sports stadium. We have prepared very well and if we have a good game we can even win the day," he added.

Kotoko and Aduana have met 14 times with both sides winning five times and four games ending in a stalemate. However, Aduana have failed to win any of their seven away trips to Kumasi, picking three draws and four defeats.
