Legendary Australian forward Tim Cahill will join Jamshedpur FC’s pre-season training on September 5. The Indian Super League (ISL) side are currently training in Segovia which is 70 kilometres away from Madrid.
Tim Cahill had put pen to paper for Jamshedpur on September 2 and became their sixth foreigner and marquee signing for the upcoming season five of ISL. The Socceroos star became the most high profile signing in the history of club.
Jamshedpur have played two pre-season friendly matches in Spain so far. After winning their first match 1-0 against Torrelodones CF, they suffered a 0-3 defeat against UD San Sebastian de Los Reyes. They are scheduled to play a friendly match against Atletico Madrid ‘B’ side later in the tour.
The Tata Steel-owned side had roped in 59-year-old former Atletico Madrid coach Cesar Ferrando as their manager earlier in the season. They have also signed India U-20 players Aniket Jadhav and Amarjit Singh.
In their debut season, The Men of Steel had finished fifth under the tutelage of British coach Steve Coppell. Under Ferrando they will look forward to improve their results from last time and win the title.
