In the Spotlight: Paul Pogba’s best bits from the Champions League so far

The Frenchman has had a mixed campaign so far in the Champions League…

Paul Pogba has two goals and an assist from his three matches in the UEFA Champion League for Manchester United so far.

However, all those contributions came in the first game against Young Boys which United won 3-0. After finding the top corner with a brilliant shot from the edge of the area, he converted a penalty and then went on to set up Anthony Martial for the third goal.

Then United played out a 0-0 draw with Valencia at home. Paul Pogba did sting the palms of goalkeeper Neto with a free-kick. However, Geoffrey Kondogbia harried Pogba whenever his compatriot ventured too far forward, while a number of important interventions in his own box denied the home side a threat from set-pieces.

Against Juventus at home, Pogba was looking forward to an emotional reunion with Juve but he struggled to exert his influence on the contest. He was outshone by a relative rookie as Rodrigo Bentancur helped the away side dominate the midfield battle for Juve, although Pogba did come close to equalising for United

Pogba almost snatched an undeserved point for the Red Devils when his 75th-minute strike clipped the woodwork and bounced clear off the diving Szczesny
Rodrigo Bentancur completed the most passes (78) in the game between Manchester United & Juventus, with 91% passing accuracy.

Now he is set to return to Turin to take on Juventus again.
