Manchester City have a chance to capitalise on their rivals dropping points when they face Huddersfield Town on Sunday.

Manchester United won their Saturday fixture but Chelsea's draw with Liverpool and Tottenham's stalemate with West Brom could make this a profitable weekend for City.

They will face a stern test, though, in West Yorkshire, with the Terriers sitting 10th after a bright start to life in the top flight.

GAME PREVIEW

There is some debate as to how many games Manchester City have actually won in a row.

The point of contention is their penalty-shootout win over Wolves in the Carabao Cup, and whether or not that counts as a victory having ended 0-0 after 120 minutes.

If we talk only about final outcomes by any method, anyway, City have won 17 matches on the trot.

They look almost unstoppable at present and even on a night on which they were not at their dazzling best in the Champions League against Feyenoord in midweek, they kept a clean sheet and found the solitary goal they needed late on.

Taking nothing away from the exceptional work Pep Guardiola has done since taking charge at the Etihad Stadium, he also seems to be getting the rub of the green of late.

City have largely remained injury-free and just as they did lose one key player in John Stones, an ideal replacement - Vincent Kompany - made his comeback.

Huddersfield Town held City to a draw in the FA Cup last season but they will find a much sterner test in front of them this time around.
