GAME PREVIEW

Postecoglou and his side will not only be faced with beating a high-scoring Honduras side in unfamiliar surroundings, but will be tasked with doing so in front of an infamously hostile 38,000 crowd.

The Hondurans secured a thrilling 3-2 home win over Mexico in their last outing and in doing so snatched fourth position and a play-off place away from United States.

They will be confident in finding the net on at least one occassion on Friday, such is the Socceroos vulnerability at the back.

Australia have kept just one clean sheet in the last 12 months, a 2-0 victory against United Arab Emirates in March 2017.

Honduras have also struggled in defence, however, and have conceded in each of their last five fixtures - the worst of which being a 6-0 defeat at the hands of United States in March.

Both sides will be desperate to gain even a narrow advantage going into the second leg of the play-off and is set to be an exciting encounter as a result.
