The People’s Elephants successfully pulled a comeback after falling to an early goal from Daniel Etor.
Strikes from Stephen Chukwude and Mfon Udoh after the restart were enough to grant Gbenga Ogunbote’s men a derby victory.
And Anaemena credits their fightback to the extra motivation handed to them before the commencement of the second half.
"We were surprised when that goal came in but after the first half, even when they were still leading us, we were still motivated as our coach tried to motivate us at half-time, our chairman also did.
"As we went out for the second half we also had to motivate ourselves and knowing that it's an Oriental Derby we had to give It our all. And we thank God that we came out victorious," he continued.
Imama Amapakabo’s men were on the defence for the majority of the game and the defender, unfazed by such approach, said: “I’m not surprised because any team that is coming to play Enyimba will always have it at the back of their mind that they are going to play a good side.”
“So they have to prepare tactically and have to do all it takes to play a big team. So I’m not surprised that they came to defend,” he concluded.
