Former Sofapaka FC left back Wesley Onguso is one of the new faces in Gor Mahia.

The defender has had limited opportunities with Batoto ba Mungu after being sidelined by head coach Sam Ssimbwa, but still had a decent display in the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup where he played every minute for Harambee Stars and helped them win the competition.

The former Western Stima star is aware of the pressure associated with the Kenyan Premier League champions but he is keen to give his best and help the Green Army perform.

“Definitely I am excited to be at Gor Mahia, a team many players want to play for because of its reputation and culture, and we also know how big it is," Onguso told Goal.

“As a player I know, results have to be there, meaning performance is key if I have to be considered week in week out. I urge the fans to be supportive as they have always been and for sure we will give our best.”

Gor Mahia is set to move to camp as from next week in preparation for the new season.
