Gor Mahia and Simba set to end four decades of hide-and-seek game on Sunday

Kenyan Premier League record champions Gor Mahia will lock horns with Tanzania giants Simba for the first time in 37 years when the two regional football powerhouses clash in the Super Cup final on Sunday.

Two of Eastern African finest clubs will meet for the first time since 1981, where they squared it out in the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup with Gor Mahia winning the duel by a solitary goal.

Sunday’s clash will bring together two sides that are yet to concede a goal in this tournament at the regulation time, in the last two games.

Gor Mahia have scored five goals; hitting Singida United 3-0 to add to a 2-0 victory against Jeshi La Kujenga Uchumi in the opening match.

Simba, on the other hand, edged out Kakamega Homeboyz in a post-match penalty shootout after both sides played to a 0-0 draw in regulation time having also knocked out Kariobangi Sharks in similar circumstances.

Spectators from both sides will have their eyes will be on two goalkeepers, Aish Manula of Simba and Shaban Odhonji who has been outstanding for K'Ogalo thus far; should he be preferred over Boniface Oluoch once against by coach Dylan Kerr.

On the other side, Meddie Kagere will need to keep on his scoring record to grab the Golden Boot.
