Just days after Victorian club Avondale were linked to a move for Andrea Pirlo, Francesco Totti has now also been the subject of an even more questionable approach.
The report notes that APIA has strong links to Roma's academy with club legend Gieussepe Giannini set to come and watch the clash before running a few academy sessions.
While Totti has only ever played professionally for one club and retired in 2017, Giannini's imminent arrival has seemingly given APIA some hope their offer could bear fruit with Totti a lifelong admirer.
Leichhardt, who stunned A-League champions Melbourne Victory in the Round of 16, are in need of a striker after top scorer Jordan Murray sealed a move to Central Coast Mariners last month.
Whether Totti is willing to fill those shoes does appear to be extremely unlikely however considering his proud status of being a one-club player and the fact he last played professionally in May 2017.
Then again, who would have thought Usain Bolt would be training with the Mariners a year ago?!
