First Leicester City goal excites Rachid Ghezzal

Rachid Ghezzal is excited after scoring his first goal for Leicester City in their 4-0 thumping of Fleetwood Town in Tuesday’s League Cup tie.

After goals from Christian Fuchs, Vicente Iborra and Nigeria’s Kelechi Iheanacho, the new recruit sealed the victory for Claude Puel’s men with a well-taken strike from outside the area.

The 26-year-old winger, who joined the King Power Stadium outfit in the summer from French Ligue 1 side Monaco, is ‘happy’ with his maiden goal.

“Yes I am very happy, I feel very well, I am training very hard and I am happy to score today [Tuesday],” Ghezzal told LCFCTV.

“It is my favourite position when I come inside and shoot. I work on this position a lot in training and I am very happy [it yielded positive result].

“I am very happy importantly for the confidence to score and at home it is good for the future.”

Ghezzal will hope to replicate the form when Leicester face Liverpool in a Premier League game on Saturday.
