Fifa turn down Ghana's protest against South African referee Bennett

Fifa have rejected Ghana’s protest against South African referee Daniel Bennett and his assistants following a goalless draw against Uganda in the 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifying last week, Goal understands.

The Black Stars were in a dire need of three points to stand a chance of booking a place at Russia 2018, but failed to claim a win in Kampala which Ghanaian officials blamed on poor officiating prompting a complaint to Fifa.

According to Ghana FA, striker Frank Acheampong was denied a legitimate penalty after he was tripped in the box by a Uganda defender before goals from Daniel Amartey and Rafael Dwamena were ruled offside.
