FIFA 17 Ultimate Team players have voted Chris Smalling the first FUTTIES winner of 2017.
The Manchester United centre-back was chosen ahead of team-mate Eric Bailly and Barcelona's Samuel Umtiti in the first round of voting, with a special upgraded 87 version of his player card released as a result.
The FUTTIES series runs six weeks, until August 18th, with EA Sports making available a range of different categories of cards and packs available to their FUT fans. They can get themselves one of the new special 87 Smalling cards by completing a special Squad Building Challenge (SBC) which requires users to submit at least one FUTTIES nominee in an 84-rated squad.
The second round of voting has opened, with fans now choosing their favourite goalkeeper through special Squad Building Challenges in the game. Fans can vote for Stoke City's Jack Butland, Chelsea's Asmir Begovic, or PSG goalkeeper Kevin Trapp, who are among the most popular players at their position in FIFA 17.
During the FUTTIES period, EA Sports are also releasing special End of an Era cards for retiring players, with Francesco Totti and Dirk Kuyt currently available. As well as the FUTTIES and End of an Era players, Marquee Transfer players have been added to the game, featuring some of the biggest transfers of the summer transfer window so far - which could allow fans a chance to get their hands on a Manchester United version of Romelu Lukaku or a Bayern Munich James Rodriguez.
