Morocco lost the vote 134 to 65 in the Fifa Congress on Wednesday.
Most African nations were upset about fellow nations from their continent voting for America's United bid. Then you'd see Moroccan fans complaining about a few Arab nations backing the USA. Other than the politics, there's other upset fans in what was an emotional day for African football.
With Africa failing to host their second World Cup, it was expected that there'd be many complaints and finger pointing. The continent hosted their first tournament in South Africa in 2010.
Here's how soccer fans reacted throughout Africa.

Thank's to all the countries that will vote for us, winner or loser
I am a Liberian and I stand Morocco 🇲🇦 and support Morocco for for #Morocco2026. When USA 🇺🇸 and many other Western Countries closed their borders n stopped planes for entering Liberia, Morocco was there for us.— Adam Dorley, MD (@Amdorley) June 10, 2018
Best of luck to Morocco in the race to host the 2026 World Cup tomorrow. Algeria are routing for you!— DZ Football (@DZFootball_en) June 12, 2018
Although I think it’s unlikely that there will be two Arab hosts in a row, it would be great to see you win the bid!#Morocco2026 pic.twitter.com/u6yNFHZRZa
There it is. #WorldCup2026 is coming to North America. By final count of 134-65, #United2026 bid tops #Morocco2026. #worldcup returns to U.S. for first time since picture below was taken. 1994 changed my life, hope 2026 will do same for boys and girls in 🇲🇽 🇨🇦 & 🇺🇸. pic.twitter.com/2H2K5lHxoS— Sebastian Salazar (@SebiSalazarFUT) June 13, 2018
If we Africans need to be persuaded to support another African country in its bid, then there is something wrong with us. #morocco2026— Ayodele Ladokun (@ayoladokun) June 12, 2018
After months of hard work, visiting 80% of the world and campaigning for #Morocco2026 it all comes down to this. Tomorrow, the 207 FIFA federations will decide the 2026 World Cup host.— Maghrib Foot (@MaghribFoot) June 12, 2018

America I love you, but I am #Morocco2026— Valdez (@benyboi) June 12, 2018
Canada and the United States are not football nations. It's a disgrace that Morocco's bid was put aside, especially when it was for poor and illegitimate reasons. It could have been a great opportunity to make the African continent shine. #morocco2026— FRS (@fares_bns) June 13, 2018
This is why the United Bid should not win the 2026 World Cup bid. Threats are just as corrupting as envelopes of cash and expensive gifts. #StandUpToBullying— James Barisic 🇪🇺 #FBPE (@jamesmb) June 13, 2018
Let's have a clean #WorldCup
