EPL Best Bets Matchweek Three: Premier League Predictions

We are now two weeks into the Premier League season, and there have been a few surprises already. Liverpool has yet to win a match, while Manchester United is at the bottom of the table for the first time since 1992.

There have been solid showings from newly promoted sides Fulham (0-2-0) and Nottingham Forest (1-0-1), while established clubs like Leicester City and West Ham remain winless.

What will happen in matchweek three? Let’s examine some of my favorite best bets and predictions for this weekend in the Premier League.

Fulham vs Brentford Best Bet

Draw No Bet: Brentford Wins (+105) at PointsBet Sportsbook

WAGER: 1 Unit

Fulham is the favorite at home despite scoring just one non-penalty goal this season. Meanwhile, Brentford opened their season with a 2-2 draw at Leicester before thrashing Manchester United 4-0 at Gtech Community Stadium.

The Cottagers should make this a competitive match, but the Bees are the superior team, in my opinion. I prefer a Draw No Bet wager at plus-money rather than a straight +190 bet for a Brentford victory due to the high probability of a draw.

Everton vs Nottingham Forest Best Bet

UNDER 2.5 Combined Goals (-130)

WAGER: 1 Unit

Through two weeks in the Premier League season, Everton and Nottingham Forest have combined to score just twice, with one being an own goal by Aston Villa’s Lucas Digne.

The Toffees enter the match without a primary striker and have several key players unavailable with injuries, such as Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Yerry Mina, Abdoulaye Doucouré, and Ben Godfrey. Rumors of Anthony Gordon’s departure would only make a bleak situation worse for the Everton offense.

Bet on a competitive match with a very low total.

Leicester City vs Southampton Best Bet

Leicester City Wins and Over 2.5 Total Goals scored (+155)

WAGER: 1 Unit

Southampton had the fourth-worst defense in the Premier League last season and has already conceded six goals through matchweek two.

Expect Jamie Vardy, who averages nearly one goal per match against Southampton, and James Maddison to find the back of the net during this showdown. Meanwhile, the Saints are likely to score in the second half in a losing effort.

Back the Foxes to win with Over 2.5 total goals being scored on Saturday.

Arsenal vs AFC Bournemouth Best Bet

Arsenal Covers -1.5 Goal Spread (-110)

WAGER: 1 Unit

The Gunners are off to a fantastic start this season, netting six goals over the first two matchweeks.

A 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace was followed up by a 4-2 win at home versus Leicester City due to significant contributions from Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli.

Meanwhile, AFC Bournemouth, fresh off their promotion to the Premier League, have had mixed results. After a surprising opening week victory over Aston Villa at home, the Cherries suffered a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Manchester City.

I expect Mikel Arteta to have Arsenal ready as they continue to make a statement early in the season. Bet on the Gunners to take care of business at the Emirates and cover the spread.
