EPL Best Bets Matchweek 9: Premier League Predictions & Bet Picks

08:40 EAT 29/09/2022
The Premier League is back following the international break, and we have picked the three best bets for this round of EPL action

This weekend sees a number of big fixtures in the English Premier League. Mikel Arteta and his Arsenal side will defend the top of the table when they host Harry Kane and Spurs in the north London derby on Saturday. Meanwhile, the Manchester Derby takes place on Sunday when Manchester United travels across town to face Pep Guardiola and the defending champions from Manchester City.

With less than two months to go before the World Cup brings the EPL to a mid-season hiatus, clubs will be looking to establish a strong position heading into the winter transfer window.

So which clubs will come out of the break and make a statement? Let’s take a look at current betting lines for Matchweek 9 in the Premier League to find the best bets and props.

All odds and bets are provided courtesy of BetMGM Sportsbook as of Wednesday, Sept. 28, at 10:30 a.m. ET, unless otherwise noted.

Matthew Williams' 2022-23 EPL Betting Record: 25-16 (+15.8 units)

Bournemouth vs Brentford Best Bet

➕ Brentford Wins & Over 2.5 Goals Combined (+240) at BetMGM

WAGER: 1 Unit

There have been more than 2.5 goals scored in nine of Brentford’s previous 11 Premier League matches, thanks in part to the outstanding play of Ivan Toney.

Add in the fact that Bournemouth has conceded the second-most goals (19) in the EPL this season, and you have the recipe for the Over.

The Bees should have a physical advantage over the Cherries, which should lead to them dominant set pieces and controlling the air.

Leicester City vs Nottingham Forest Best Bet

➕ Leicester Wins & Both Teams Score (+225) at BetMGM

WAGER: 1 Unit

Leicester City has allowed a Premier League-worst 22 goals, while Forest has conceded 17. However, the Foxes were able to find the back of the net 10 times, despite being unable to win a match so far this season.

Look for James Maddison to take advantage of Forest’s shaky defense, leading Leicester to their first victory in a high-scoring match, and possibly saving Brendan Rodgers’ job (for now).

Arsenal vs Tottenham Best Bet

➕ Arsenal Wins & Both Teams Score (+250) at BetMGM

WAGER: 1 Unit

There is simply too much firepower in this fixture to foresee a clean sheet on either side. I expect the Gunners to score early and control the tempo of the match, with Tottenham finding their groove in the second half.

In addition to the strong play of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min ended his early-season scoring drought in a big way when he came off the bench to secure a hat trick in only 14 minutes against Leicester City.
