Crystal Palace 7/1 to draw a blank against Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea

Crystal Palace’s troubles have been well documented this season, from the 77-day reign of Frank de Boer to the hiring of Roy Hodgson.

The former England manager was unable to pull the freefalling Eagles out of trouble in his first match in charge, losing 1-0 at home to Southampton to be condemned to one of the worst starts to a Premier League season ever.

That result leaves Palace rock bottom of the top flight after five games, and sitting on zero points, zero goals scored and eight goals conceded - the only side since the formation of the Premier League not to have scored in any of their opening five matches.

Things are unlikely to get much better for them in the coming weeks, too, as they face both Manchester clubs and Chelsea in their next three games, and bet365 are offering 1/5 (1.20) that they fail to win all of those matches.

Alternatively, you can back the Londoners to come out on top for the first time this season at the Etihad Stadium or Old Trafford at 14/1 (15.0)   each, whilst, if they lose those, a win at home to the Blues can be backed at 6/1 (7.0) .

Victories were not easy to come by for the Eagles last season either, as, whilst they won 12 games to avoid relegation, seven of these victories came in the final 12 weeks.

First things first for Palace, though, is to find the net; they already scored twice against Ipswich Town in the League Cup, but averaging just three shots per game in the Premier League is hardly a recipe for success.

That being said, they have to score at some point, and bet365 have quoted evens (2.0) that they net their first goal of the season at Manchester City, who are on a fine run of clean sheets themselves.

If you think there will be another 0 next to their name there, then you can back Palace at  5/2 (3.50) to score for the first time this season against the red half of Manchester; and should you think that they will leave without troubling the scoreboard operator there as well, then you can grab them at 4/1 (5.0) to break their duck at home to Chelsea.

For the more adventurous, you can back 7/1 (8.0) that Palace fail to score in all of those matches and net at some point later on in the campaign - assuming they do at all.

The Eagles lost all three corresponding fixtures last season by an aggregate of 10-0, and given the way they have started this season, a repeat of that is far from out of the question.
