Cecafa U-17: Kenya cruise past Burundi in opener

The National U-17 team kicked off her Cecafa campaign on a positive note with a 4-0 win over hosts Burundi on Saturday.

A second-half brace by St Anthony’s Kitale forward Isaiah Abwal, coupled with first-half goals by Christopher Raila and Nicholas Omondi saw the junior side notch an early Group A lead.

Kenya will next face Ethiopia on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, before rounding up action against Somalia on Friday, April 20, 2018. The top two teams from each of the two groups will gain qualification to the semifinals, set to be played on April 25, with the final set to be played on April 29, 2018.
