Kadiri Ikhana sacked as Kano Pillars coach after Enugu Rangers defeat

Kadiri Ikhana has been sacked as Kano Pillars coach, the club has confirmed.

Nigeria great Ikhana was appointed as Mohammed Babaganaru's successor following Sai Masu Gida's ill-fated campaign last season.

But he was shown the way out after yet another Nigeria Professional Football League loss to Enugu Rangers on Sunday – their third on a row.

And a board meeting after the encounter at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium led to Ikhana, who helped them win the NPFL diadem in 2008, being axed.

Pillars have conceded 16 goals and scored 16 in their 19 league games this season to be sitting three points from safety.

Goals from Chibuzor Madu, Chiamaka Madu and Ifeanyi George  consigned them to their latest loss as the Flying Antelopes scored thrice.
