Boutaib outshines Adebayor in Yeni Malatyaspor’s draw with Istanbul Basaksehir

Khalid Boutaib was on the scoresheet as Yeni Malatyaspor played a 1-1 draw with Emmanuel Adebayor’s Istanbul Basaksehir in Monday’s Turkish Super Lig game.

Erol Bulut’s men started the game strong and aimed to continue with their impressive result in their last league outing but Edin Visca’s strike denied them the three points.

The visitors opened the scoring through Boutaib on the half-hour mark after benefitting from Arturo Mina’s assist.

Adebayor received a caution in the 36th minute for his troubles before Edin Visca levelled proceedings in the 71st minute after he was set up by Irfan Kahveci.

The Moroccan featured for the entire duration of the game while the Togo international and former Arsenal striker was replaced in the 78th minute.

With the draw, Istanbul Basaksehir are second in the log with 14 points from seven games while Yeni Malatyaspor are ninth with 11 points from the same numbers of matches.

Basaksehir lock horns with Fenerbahce while Malatyaspor take on Ankaragucu in their league games on October 7 respectively.
