Riyad Mahrez Algeria Guinea AFCON
The North African giants have had a habit of opening proceedings at Afcon and will hope it takes them one step towards ultimate victory in Cairo

The curtain comes down on the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations as Senegal and Algeria slug it out in the final at Cairo International Stadium on Friday night.

Manchester City’s Riyad Mahrez was the star in the semi-finals, as his involvement in the two goals against Nigeria, was enough to see the Foxes through, for their first final appearance since 1990.

Djamel Belmadi’s men had already seen off Senegal 1-0 in the group phase, and are (2.80) with bet365, to come out victorious within regulation time once again.

The Teranga Lions needed extra time and an own goal from Tunisia’s Dylan Bronn to make it to only their second-ever Afcon final.

On their first occasion against Cameroon in 2002, they lost out via penalties, but they will hope it sticks this time, and are (2.70) with the same bet firm to get the job done in 90 minutes.

A stalemate is priced at (3.00).

Although Algeria have a slight edge over Senegal in head-to-head meetings with four wins, two draws and three defeats, they have an interesting fact that could give them the edge in Cairo.

The North Africans have opened the scoring in nine of their previous 11 Afcon games, including every game at the ongoing tournament.

They are offered at (2.25) with bet365 to do it one more time.
