He's the A-League's all-time top scorer but more than anything, Besart Berisha is the competition's big-game player.
About to play in a record-equalling fifth grand final as Melbourne Victory look to take down the high-flying Jets, the striker has come up short just once in an A-League decider when Sydney FC pipped Victory on penalties last season.
Be it an ice-cool spot kick in injury time after a very questionable foul for Brisbane Roar or a lethal half-volley to sink the Sky Blues, Berisha has a knack for delivering on the big stage.
The 32-year-old has in fact scored in all four of his grand finals to date and despite Newcastle being slim favourites on Saturday, Berisha is backed to score first and indeed at any point during the match.
While he didn't score in the semi-final against Sydney FC to extend his finals record for consecutive goals, he did deliver a brilliant assist for James Troisi which almost sealed Kevin Muscat's side the win in regular time.
The week before Berisha did well and truly steal the spotlight however, pulling off an audacious bicycle kick in the dying minutes to seal a 2-1 win over Adelaide United.
Though Riley McGree's scorpion for the Jets last week may have put that effort in the dark, don't expect Berisha to remain in the shadows once the ball starts rolling at McDonald Jones Stadium.
While a quiet regular season by his high standards, the Kosovan international lives and breathes for finals football, showing time and again he can deliver when it counts.
"That’s my life, this is my game, I love these games," Berisha said.
"I want to be ready, I want to be ready for my club and my team. You never know when your last game will be.
"I’m just really, very, very grateful to have the opportunity to play a grand final as a football player. It doesn’t come along, maybe once, maybe twice and you don’t know when it’s coming again so you do everything."
