Netherlands celebrate v Bulgaria 03092017
The visitors need a win to keep their slim World Cup hopes alive, and we are backing them to claim it in a high scoring game in Barysaw

Runners up in 2010 and placed third in 2014, Netherlands find themselves on the brink of missing out of the World Cup in 2018.

The Dutch, of course, failed to qualify for last year's extended edition of the European Championships and they need two convincing wins in their final two matches to have any chance of avoiding the ignominy of missing out once more.

This qualifying campaign has been less disastrous than their Euro qualifying exploits, although they have been poor on the road with Netherlands' only win in four away matches coming in Luxembourg; Dick Advocaat's men must change that record on Saturday evening and bet365 offer them at 1/4 (1.25) to win in Belarus.

The hosts, meanwhile, have nothing but pride to play for, but at home they have only lost one of their four matches - even holding France to a 0-0 draw last year - and Belarus can be backed at 14/1 (15.00) while the draw is offered at 11/2 (6.50).

Nevertheless, Belarus are bottom of the table, with even Luxembourg above them on goal difference, and the Belarusians' problems in the final third have seen them net just four times in their eight qualifiers.

To this end, opposing the hosts to find the back of the net could make sense and a Dutch win to nil at 5/6 (1.83) in theory looks appealing. However, the Netherlands' defensive record does not inspire much confidence with the side's only clean sheet in eight qualifiers coming at home to Luxembourg.

Instead, we will take the price of 8/11 (1.73) for an away win and over 2.5 goals in the game, a selection which has paid out in all four of the Dutch's qualifying wins in this campaign, including their last meeting against Belarus a year ago, which finished 4-1 in their favour.
