Bartley Secondary clinch inaugural U14 Inter-school Futsal Challenge trophy

The FAS-Singapore Pools Inter-School Futsal Challenge (ISFC) held at our Tampines Hub yesterday saw Bartley Secondary emerge as champions. They clinched the inaugural Under-14 ISFC trophy after dominating against their opponents from Whitley Secondary.

From the get go it was a one sided affair as Bartley secondary came out all guns blazing pressing their opponents relentlessly. They got an early goal through a free-kick and from there they never looked back.

Encouraged by their coach who was constantly bellowing from the sidelines, the team would soon go on to score two more goals. Whitley Secondary for their part offered a response in the second half and managed to create a few good chances for themselves but were let down by wayward finishing.

In the end though Bartley Secondary managed to hold on to their lead and see out the match. It was a deserving victory for a team who looked every inch of what champions are made of.

In accordance with the FAS’ agenda of developing youth players and increasing participation at the grassroots level, the ISFC is Singapore’s largest school futsal tournament organised for the U-10 and U-14 age-groups and is supported by Singapore Pools and the Ministry of Education.
