The Bafana Bafana mentor is set for the biggest game of his career next month, and he is hoping to do it with Bartlett at his side

With just over a month to go until Bafana Bafana’s all-important showdown with Libya, head coach Stuart Baxter is already looking to ready his technical team for the clash.

Baxter has constantly chopped and changed his backroom staff as he has failed to appoint a permanent assistant but has often preferred to have at least one former Bafana international in his ranks.

The Briton has previously utilised Shaun Bartlett among others as his assistant, and it appears that Baxter wants the former star back on onboard despite him recently signing with Kaizer Chiefs , where he is an assistant to head coach Ernst Middendorp.

Nonetheless, while the 65-year-old has revealed his desire to once again work with Bartlett, he admits that nothing is cast in stone as yet.

"It's not been 100% cleared with Chiefs yet,” Baxter was quoted as saying by Sport24 .

“The initial signals we got was that, when Shaun moved over, they would like him to be a Chiefs asset and not a national asset as well,” he added.

"But I think that stance has softened slightly. We haven't got a 100% call on that,” an optimistic Baxter revealed.

While it remains to be seen whether or not Bartlett will be part of Bafana technical team for the clash where just a point will be enough to secure their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations berth, there is apparently no uncertainty regarding Molefi Ntseki's future.

"Molefi Ntseki will certainly be with me, and after that, we want to take people who know what they're doing. We don't want to be inducting new people into the squad if at all possible," he concluded.
