Badu backs Senegal to qualify to World Cup knockout stage

Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu is optimistic that Senegal will be able to make it through to the knockout stage of the 2018 Fifa World Cup.

The Teranga Lions sit second in Group H and will meet Colombia on Thursday. They must avoid defeat to progress to the round of 16.

“Senegal have a better chance to go through to the next stage of the World Cup against Colombia. I believe the worst results in the game will be a draw,” Badu told 442gh.

“Senegal playing against Colombia is like two African countries meeting because the game will be very physical.

“The Colombians are a physical side who are very strong in the air and run a lot. They depend on counter attacks because of Juan Cuadrado’s the speed.

“However, Senegal have quality team but the only problem is that at times, they lack concentration. We saw what happened in their last game against Japan but I tip them to make African proud," he added.

Group leaders Japan will play Poland in the other game.

The other African representatives, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia and Nigeria, have all been booted from the competition.
