All the stats and numbers you need as The Warriors prepare to take on the Eagles of Carthage in Libreville

Our good friends at Opta have complied all the numbers and stats you need to assess the teams’ chances ahead of today’s Afcon Group B clash at  the Stade d'Angondje.

-   This is Zimbabwe’s third AFCON participation after 2004 and 2006. They failed to reach the knockout stages, finishing bottom of their group on both occasions and winning only two of their six games (L4).

-   Meanwhile, this is Tunisia’s 18th AFCON participation, a tally only bettered by Egypt (23), Ivory Coast (22) and Ghana (21).

-   Tunisia’s only AFCON title dates back to 2004, as hosts. Since then, they haven’t progressed further than the quarter-finals.

-   Zimbabwe and Tunisia’s only previous encounter dates back to November 1998, it ended in a draw (1-1). It’s their first meeting in the AFCON.

-   Tunisia will be guaranteed a place in the next round with a point whilst Zimbabwe need to win this match to have any chance of progressing.

-   Zimbabwe have failed to claim a victory yet in this AFCON campaign; they have recorded two previous wins in the tournament, both coming in the final group stage match played (2004 & 2006).

-   Tunisia have failed to keep a clean sheet in 13 of their last 14 matches in the African Cup of Nations.

-   Only one of the last five goals conceded in the AFCON by Tunisia has come from open play (two penalties, one corner and a free-kick).

-   Six of Tunisia’s last seven goals have come in the second half whilst both of Zimbabwe’s efforts in this AFCON have come inside the opening half an hour.

-   Ahmed Akaichi has scored in three of his last five AFCON appearances for Tunisia.
