That brings an end to our coverage of the Premier League clash between West Brom and West Ham at The Hawthorns. Thank you very much for joining us. Goodbye!
The Hammers only need a point from their final Premier League fixture at home to Southampton to secure a Europa League spot. West Brom, meanwhile, play their last top-flight game of the 2020-21 season away at Leeds.
At the end of an entertaining spectacle, West Ham take all three points and take a big step towards qualifying for the Europa League next season. The Baggies took the lead through a Soucek own goal just before the half-hour mark, but the Czech international levelled the score with a close-range finish on the brink of half-time. As the game entered the closing stages, two quick goals from Ogbonna and Antonio put the game beyond West Brom, and the win takes the Hammers up into sixth place.
90' + 4' FULL TIME: WEST BROM 1-3 WEST HAM
90' + 2' Bar an unlikely comeback in the closing minutes, West Ham will now only need a point against Southampton on the final day to secure their place in next season’s Europa League.
90' There will be three minutes of added time at the end of this match
I. Diop
Pablo Fornals
89' Moyes makes his second substitution, bringing on Diop for Fornals.
M. Diagne
H. Robson-Kanu
89' Following that third goal for West Ham, Allardyce makes his final change. Diagne comes on for Robson-Kanu.
J. Lingard
Assist
88' That was a ruthless counter attack from the away side. The weight of pass from Lingard and Antonio’s finish were out of the top drawer, and now the Hammers are in the driving seat regarding the final Europa League spot.
M. Antonio
Goal
88' GOOOAAAAALLL! The Hammers add a third! West Ham launch a quick counter as Fornals steals the ball from Gallagher, before sliding it to Lingard on the edge of the box. The Englishman takes his time before rolling in Antonio, who beats Johnstone from the right side of the penalty area. 3-1.
C. Dawson
Yellow Card
87' Dawson cynically brings down Pereira in the centre of the park and the defender is shown a late yellow card.
K. Ahearne-Grant
O. Yokuşlu
85' With a few minutes left to play, Allardyce replaces Yokuslu with Grant.
84' Antonio impedes Furlong and the hosts win a free-kick deep inside their own half. Can they find a leveller in the final minutes?
A. Cresswell
Assist
82' The Hammers have looked threatening from set-pieces all game, and this time the delivery from Cresswell is inch perfect. Ogbonna ghosted in to meet the delivery without too much pressure and made no mistake with the finish.
A. Ogbonna
Goal
82' GOOOAAAAALLL! West Ham lead! From the following corner, Cresswell steers an inviting cross into the centre of the box, which Ogbonna powerfully heads into the bottom-left corner from just a few yards out. VAR checks for a potential handball against the Italian, but the goal stands. 2-1.
81' GREAT SAVE! Bowen cuts onto his left foot from the right-hand side of the field and steers a dangerous throughball beyond the hosts’ defence for Fornals. The Spaniard’s first-time, close-range shot from the centre of the box is steered behind for corner by Johnstone.
79' Pereira looks to knock the ball past Cresswell and drive into the West Ham penalty area. A free-kick, however, is given to the visitors as the Brazilian is adjudged to have pulled back the full-back.
78' If the score stays the same in the closing minutes, the Hammers will need to win against Southampton on the final day of the season to secure their place in next season’s Europa League.
76' SAVE! Rice sends the ball down the left-hand side of the hosts’ penalty area, and Fornals gets it out of his feet before forcing Johnstone into a routine save at his near post.
74' There is a mix-up on the edge of the Hammers’ penalty area as Robson-Kanu's goal-bound shot is blocked by Phillips, who could not get out of the way of his teammate.
73' Diangana immediately looks to make something happen, darting inside from the right flank before slicing a shot wide to the left of Randolph’s goal.
J. Bowen
S. Benrahma
72' The Hammers make their first alteration of the match, with Bowen entering the fray in place of Benrahma, who set up the equaliser.
70' Townsend plays a give-and-go with Phillips down the left flank, although the return pass to the full-back is overhit and runs behind for a goal-kick.
G. Diangana
A. Maitland-Niles
69' The Baggies make their first change of the game with 21 minutes of normal time left to play. Diangana, who was formerly of West Ham, comes on to replace Maitland-Niles.
68' OPENING! A clever one-two between Pereira and Robson-Kanu opens up the space for the Brazilian to get a shot off from the edge of the box, but he drags it wide of the far post.
67' After that equalising goal, Soucek has now netted 10 goals for West Ham in the Premier League this season. That is the most by a midfielder for the club in a single campaign since Kevin Nolan in 2012-13 (also 10).
65' OFF THE POST! Following a foul on Antonio by Yokuslu, Cresswell whips the resulting free-kick from a dangerous central area around the wall and it crashes against the near post.
64' The Baggies launch a quick counter down the left, and Cresswell and Ogbonna struggle to deal with Pereira’s curling cross. The loose ball falls to Dawson, who hooks it to safety with Robson-Kanu lurking.
62' NOT FAR AWAY! Cresswell goes across to the right to take the following corner, and Soucek’s near-post header just evades the far post and Antonio’s outstretched leg.
61' Lingard sets Benrahma away down the right flank, and the Algerian’s low cross is turned out for a corner by Ajayi. Cresswell’s delivery is flicked on by Bartley and Maitland-Niles puts it behind for another corner at the far post.
59' Soucek is sold by Robson-Kanu's clever turn and the Czech midfielder catches the attacker a few yards outside of the visitors’ box. The Baggies take the following free-kick short, and Moyes’ team deal with the threat.
58' Soucek catches Gallagher and West Brom win a free-kick midway inside their own half.
56' SMART SAVE! Following a long throw-in from the left, West Ham fail to clear their lines and the ball drops to Ajayi. The defender has a couple of goes before eventually getting off a clean strike from close range, which Randolph is equal to.
55' Pereira shows good feet to drift into the box and open up the space for a shot, but his strike deflects behind for a corner Soucek. The resulting set-piece is taken short and comes to nothing.
53' Furlong looks to break down the right wing and he wins a free-kick in an advanced position after being cynically fouled from behind by Fornals. Pereira’s delivery is headed clear by Soucek.
51' Following Tottenham’s earlier home defeat to Aston Villa, a point will see West Ham climb up the table into sixth place, which is the final Europa League spot.
49' WIDE! Fornals picks the ball up in a dangerous area down the left side of the hosts’ box, but steers his curling effort well wide of the far post.
47' West Brom win an early corner in this second half down the right. Pereira’s in-swinging set-piece is tipped away by Randolph when it looked to be going in, but a free-kick is given against Phillips for a foul on the visitors’ goalkeeper.
46' We are back underway! Oliver, the referee, blows his whistle and West Ham get the second half kicked off.
Allardyce will be frustrated to concede at the end of the first half, but he will be pleased with his team’s efforts thus far. Pereira has looked dangerous when drifting into pockets of space, with Robson-Kanu's off-the-ball running giving the Brazilian space to work. Moyes, on the other hand, will want to see more from his side after the break. Antonio has struggled to get into the game so far, with much of the Hammers’ play going down the flanks.
After an action-packed first half, West Brom and West Ham go in level at the break. The visitors spurned a golden opportunity to take the lead from the spot after only two minutes, but Rice fired the spot-kick against the post. The Baggies made the breakthrough after Pereira’s goal-bound corner was turned beyond Randolph by Soucek, before the Czech midfielder made amends with a tidy close-range finish on the stroke of half-time to level the score.
45' + 4' HALF TIME: WEST BROM 1-1 WEST HAM
S. Benrahma
Assist
45' + 1' Soucek started the move in the inside-left channel, working the play down the flank for Fornals. After Bartley’s flick in the centre of the box, Benrahma showed great composure to control the ball and pick out the Czech international, who could not miss.
T. Souček
Goal
45' + 1' GOOOOAAAAALLL! West Ham are level! Fornals’ cross from the left is flicked on towards the back post by Bartley, where Benrahma collects the loose ball. The Algerian sends a low delivery across goal, and Soucek drifts into space to tap the ball beyond Johnstone from close range. After going to VAR for a potential offside against the Czech midfielder, the goal stands. 1-1.
45' There will be one minute of added time at the end of the first half.
43' Cresswell’s cross from the left finds Soucek in the middle, but the flag was up for offside against the Czech midfielder.
42' Following his role in the opener, Pereira has been directly involved in 16 goals in the Premier League this season (10 goals, six assists). That is the most by a West Brom player in a single campaign since Romelu Lukaku in 2012-13 (21).
O. Yokuşlu
Yellow Card
40' Yokuslu is shown a yellow card for that late foul on Fornals. He can have no complaints with that decision.
40' JUST WIDE! Fornals peels off into a pocket of space and sends the ball down the left with Lingard before being caught late by Yokuslu. The Englishman cuts inside before curling a right-footed shot just wide of the far post.
38' Soucek picks up the ball on the edge of the box following a quick counter and lashes a fierce strike over the bar.
37' GOOD OPPORTUNITY! Phillips gets away down the left-hand side of the field, lifts his head up, and picks out Robson-Kanu in the middle of the box. The striker latches onto the pass and sees his left-footed strike deflected behind for a corner off Dawson.
35' SMART STOP! Townsend's free-kick is fired into the wall before the follow-up shot is dragged across the box. Pereira picks up the loose ball, and his close-range effort is tipped over the bar following a deflection off Cresswell.
A. Ogbonna
Yellow Card
34' Ogbonna lunges in and catches Robson-Kanu on the edge of the Hammer’s box as the forward looked to turn and drive into the space. The Italian goes into the book and West Brom have a free-kick in a dangerous central area.
33' West Brom are constantly pressing West Ham. Coufal looks to send a long, searching pass down the right, and Gallagher nips in to make the block midway inside the hosts’ half.
31' Periera turns the ball behind, and West Ham win another corner down the right. Cresswell looks for Rice at the near post, but the delivery avoids everyone in the centre.
29' Cresswell goes across to the right to whip an in-swinging corner into the box, and Bartley rises well to nod it clear.
Matheus Pereira
Goal
27' GOOOOAAAAALLL! West Brom take the lead through an own goal! After Ogbonna steered Furlong’s cross behind a corner, Pereira’s resulting set-piece curls in towards the goal, and Soucek gets the slightest of touches on the ball to knock it beyond Randloph. 1-0.
25' Rice runs at the heart of the Baggies’ defence before playing in Lingard down the right-hand side of the box. Antonio peels into space for the pass, but Gallagher is alert to get across and make the interception.
24' West Ham have failed to score half of their penalties in the Premier League this season (2/4), with their two penalty goals being the fewest of any team in 2020-21.
22' WIDE! Robson-Kanu turns into space a few yards outside of the West Ham penalty area and lays the ball off to Pereira. The midfielder sets himself before firing a long-range shot wide to the right of Randolph’s goal.
21' The set-piece is swung into the box and nodded down by Ogbonna, before Dawson mistimes an audacious bicycle kick, much to the amusement of the home fans.
20' Lingard lofts an inviting pass down the right flank and picks out Coufal’s overlapping run. The full-back sends a first-time cross into the box, which is eventually turned behind for a corner by Maitland-Niles.
18' Pereira finds himself in space down the left-hand side of the visitors’ penalty area and looks to drive at Dawson. The defender stands his ground and wins a goal-kick as the ball ricochets out of play off the Brazilian midfielder.
17' Some clever play down the left-hand side of the field results in Townsend picking out Pereira, and the Brazilian’s dangerous cross into the box is punched away to the edge of the box by Randolph.
15' Rice tries to win the ball back high up the field and catches Pereira’s ankle. West Brom are awarded a free-kick.
13' The resulting corner falls to Ogbonna at the far post, and the Italian steers a tame shot from an acute angle into the side netting.
12' DECENT STRIKE! Benrahma picks the ball up a few yards outside of the hosts’ penalty area and opts to try his luck. Johnstone watches the well-struck effort all the way and tips it over the bar for a corner.
10' The hosts have come into the game after that slow start. Robson-Kanu sets Furlong away down the right wing, and the full-back's cross is headed clear in the centre of the penalty area by Ogbonna.
8' GOOD HEADER! The Baggies launch a throw-in into the middle of West Ham box from the left-hand side of the field. Bartley flicks the ball on at the near post, and Pereira’s glancing header is gathered by Randolph.
7' Fornals looks to advance down the right-hand side of the hosts’ penalty area, but Gallagher gets back to make a timely interception and knock the ball out for a throw-in down the far side.
5' At two minutes and four seconds, Rice's penalty was the earliest to be missed in a Premier League game in the competition's history.
D. Rice
Penalty Miss
3' PENALTY MISS! Rice looks to strike the ball into the bottom-left corner from the spot, but his effort cannons back into play off the post. Johnstone dove the right way and did not need to get a touch on the penalty. It remains 0-0.
S. Johnstone
Yellow Card
1' Johnstone goes into the book for that last-man foul on Antonio.
1' PENALTY! Antonio latches onto a Ajayi’s short back pass, knocks the ball around Johnstone, and gets brought down by the West Brom goalkeeper. Oliver points the spot. Rice will take it...
1' Kick-off! The referee, Michael Oliver, blows his whistle and West Brom get the game underway.
The teams are out, and kick-off will soon be upon us here at The Hawthorns.
West Brom have won just two of their last 16 Premier League meetings with West Ham. The Baggies won 1-0 in April 2014 and 4-2 in September 2016.
Fabianski has picked up an injury in the warm up. Randolph will replace him. Nathan Trott is now the Hammers' substitute goalkeeper.
The home side come into this match sitting 18th in the table and having already been relegated. The Baggies can still finish ahead of Fulham, and they will climb above the Cottagers with a win over their opposition. In their last six matches at The Hawthorns, West Brom have won only once. West Ham, meanwhile, are currently seventh and need a win to keep their Europa League dreams alive. The Hammers are four points behind fifth-placed Liverpool, and have won two of their previous six away fixtures in the Premier League.
Sam Allardyce makes one change from the West Brom side that narrowly lost to Liverpool last time out. Diangana drops to the bench, with Maitland-Niles coming in to start in midfield. David Moyes also makes one alteration for this clash, selecting Benrahma ahead of Bowen. The Algerian scored his first top-flight goal in the Hammers’ scored draw with Brighton.
WEST HAM SUBS: Darren Randolph, Fabian Balbuena, Ryan Fredericks, Ben Johnson, Issa Diop, Mark Noble, Andriy Yarmolenko, Jarrod Bowen, Ademipo Odubeko.
