Kagere, who has attracted interested from a number of top clubs in the region including Yanga and Simba, both from Tanzania, gave Gor Mahia the lead in the second minute at Moi Stadium in Kisumu.

K’Ogalo then doubled their advantage in the 28th minute through Boniface Omondi. The league leaders however, suffered a blow when midfielder Humphrey Mieno was stretched off with an injury with his place being taken by Bernard Ondieki in the first half.

K’Ogalo was in total command of the game at the break but Francis Kahata picked the rhythm after the resumption when he made it three-nil for the victors as they engaged another higher gear in the second half.
