Commentary

Brighton prepare to host Manchester City next, while Norwich now have to travel to Chelsea. Brighton can be more optimistic about how their campaign is going to pan out. That's all for now. Goodbye!
Brighton's third draw in a row lifts them to fourth in the Premier League table for now. The Seagulls are hard to beat and that's serving them well so far this season. Norwich stay bottom after their second consecutive 0-0 draw. They've tightened up defensively of late but Farke really needs his strikers to fire now if they are going to stay up. They've still yet to take the lead in a Premier League game this season.
Norwich and Brighton have played out a frustrating goalless draw. Both teams had golden opportunities to break the deadlock. Sargent, Pukki and Maupay in particular will be wondering whether they could have done better. In the end, they'll have to be happy with sharing a point apiece.
90' + 5' FULL-TIME: NORWICH CITY 0-0 BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION
90' + 5' Lees-Melou floats the free-kick into the danger area. Sanchez is proactive and comes off his line to grab it. That's it!
D. Burn
Yellow Card
90' + 4' Norwich will get one last chance to threaten Brighton as Burn brings down Rashica. Burn's been brilliant for Brighton here. He's not bothered by being shown a yellow card.
S. Duffy
Yellow Card
90' + 2' Duffy's shown a yellow card before the corner's taken. Norwich try to worry Sanchez again but it's of no concern to the Spaniard as Hanley heads over.
90' + 2' Aarons wins Norwich a corner down their right. The referee is getting a card out to show to Duffy for his rash tackle on Idah.
90' + 1' Both teams have three extra minutes in which to find a winner. Idah shrugs off a challenge and finds Rashica to his left. The Kosovan attempts to return the favour as Idah bustles into the box but again Burn is well-placed to cut the cross out.
A. Idah
T. Pukki
90' Norwich make their third and final change. Pukki walks off to applause from the home fans. Idah takes his place up front for the last few minutes of the game.
88' Giannoulis loses concentration and hands Brighton a throw-in with a sloppy touch. Norwich will rightly think they could have won this game.
87' Maupay squanders a chance to snatch a win for Brighton! March creates some space to the left of the box and centres the ball for Maupay. The Frenchman fires over from close range.
85' You wouldn't blame both teams for thinking of settling for the draw at this point. Neither side seems overly keen to risk what they've currently got. Lamptey climbs over the top of Giannoulis while going for a header and gives a foul away.
A. Mac Allister
J. Moder
84' Brighton make another change. Moder goes off. Mac Allister comes on.
L. Rupp
M. Normann
83' Norwich substitution. Normann hobbles off, having been in the thick of the action here. Rupp replaces him in midfield.
81' Lallana finds Gross in the centre of the box but the German's path to goal is blocked. Pukki and Rashica combine to race forward with Rashica playing Pukki into the box. The Finn is just about to shoot when Burn sticks out a leg and puts the ball out for a corner.
79' Gibson goes for the element of surprise, venturing forward to let rip with his left foot from range. Sanchez catches it easily.
78' Norwich get another opportunity to test Brighton's back line from a set-piece but again they can't make the most of it. Brighton go up the other end and force a corner but are equally unsuccessful in creating much.
M. Rashica
J. Sargent
76' Norwich make their first change of the game. Rashica replaces Sargent up front.
T. Pukki
Yellow Card
75' The referee walks over and shows Pukki the yellow card for dissent. Norwich can't let their frustration get the better of them.
74' Giannoulis' ball in isn't great. Pukki goes down near the corner flag as he tries and fails to beat Moder. The Norwich striker thinks he was fouled and argues his case with the linesman.
72' Norwich cut out Brighton's latest attack and Sargent gives Duffy the slip. Giannoulis' cross from the left is blocked by March. Normann arrives on the scene and is barged over by Maupay. The hosts have a free-kick.
70' Lees-Melou drags a shot wide from outside the box. Sargent is adamant he's earned a corner for Norwich as the ball goes beyond the byline but the decision goes Brighton's way. Norwich must be considering making changes soon.
68' Norwich get a free-kick of their own down their right as March halts the run of Aarons. Normann sweeps it in and the Canaries keep Brighton pinned in their defensive third without testing Sanchez. Sargent hits a defender from the edge of the box.
67' Meanwhile Brighton have a free-kick as Lees-Melou brought down Maupay. Gross sends it in and Krul catches Dunk's header.
S. March
Cucurella
66' Brighton make another change. March comes on for the sprightly Cucurella.
64' Chance for Norwich! Pukki reaches Aarons' sliderule pass and lays off to get into the box. Aarons slips Pukki in on goal and he tries to dink the ball over the onrushing Sanchez, only for it to drop just wide of the near post. The Finn thumps the turf in frustration.
62' The tricky Trossard feeds Lamptey who neatly makes his way into the box. The 21-year-old soon loses out but Brighton are upping the tempo.
60' McLean powers into space down the left and jinks into the box, laying off for Normann whose rocket shot hits a Brighton defender. Lees-Melou's effort from the right of the box is also blocked.
T. Lamptey
J. Veltman
59' Brighton decide it's time for change. Lamptey makes a welcome return from injury, replacing Veltman at right wing-back.
57' Brighton play their way out of their own half, sending Cucurella scampering down the left. The Spaniard flings a cross into Norwich's box and Moder fires off-target.
55' Neither side is making much progress. They're both trying to play the right way but aren't finding much joy at the moment.
53' Norwich give the ball away in midfield. Trossard evades the challenge of Kabak and fires towards goal from inside the D. The shot whistles just wide of the right-hand post.
52' Normann's angled pass out wide frees Aarons. Aarons tries to beat Burn but Burn sticks a big foot in to play the ball off Aarons for a goal-kick.
D. Giannoulis
Yellow Card
50' Giannoulis becomes the first Norwich player to be booked in this game as the Greek crudely brings down Gross.
48' Sargent gets a second opportunity to give Norwich the lead but can't take it! Dunk's drilled pass out from the back hits Lallana and lands to Pukki who slides the American into the box. Sanchez rushes off his line and Dunk gets enough of the ball to stop Sargent slotting past him.
47' Gross gets on the end of Cucurella's cross from the left but can't get a clear shot at goal.
46' We're underway again for the second half. Neither side has made changes at half-time.
It's not hard to see why Norwich are struggling given their problems in front of goal at this level. They've failed to score more than once in their last 25 Premier League games, scoring just seven goals during that run. As things stand that record will stretch to a record 26 games. Brighton could make them rue Sargent's profligacy.
It's all square at the break as Norwich and Brighton head in goalless. Both teams have had good opportunities to score, with Trossard inspiring a fine save from Krul and Sargent having a shot cleared off the line, albeit one the American really should have scored.
45' + 3' HALF-TIME: NORWICH CITY 0-0 BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION
45' + 2' Brighton still have the ball. The tenacious Sargent rushes back to block Veltman's cross.
45' + 1' Brighton finish the half strongly, earning a corner as Trossard hits the side netting via a deflection. Norwich head it clear.
45' There'll be three additional minutes in this first half. It's still hard to believe that Sargent didn't score there. To be fair, he was still quite far from goal but you'd expect a Premier League striker to finish a chance like that.
44' Sargent blows a golden chance to hand Norwich the lead! Brighton get muddled up at the back as Sanchez hashes his clearance. All Sargent has to do is fire into an empty net but his shot from the right of the box lacks power and is cleared off the line for a corner which Brighton survive.
43' Lees-Melou goes for goal from distance and is off-target. Norwich are looking the brighter side as we approach half-time though.
42' Normann and McLean stand over the free-kick. Normann eventually steps up to take it, firing way over the crossbar to ironic cheers from the Carrow Road crowd.
Cucurella
Yellow Card
41' Sargent powers through the middle and gets taken out by Cucurella. The Spanish youth international will take the yellow card as Norwich have a free-kick in a central position.
39' Lees-Melou picks the pocket of Trossard and looks forward for Sargent. Sargent is able to control the ball but can't keep it in play under pressure from Brighton's defenders.
38' Brighton earn a throw-in down their right which Veltman takes. Trossard shrugs off Normann to keep the visitors moving. Brighton are very tidy in possession.
36' Pukki darts down the inside-right channel and wants to find Sargent but he takes too long to find his pass. Norwich are looking solid in defence but unspectacular in attack.
35' Chance for Brighton! Maupay kills a cross in the box for Trossard who goes for a first-time volley with his left foot. Krul pulls off a fingertip save to tip it onto the crossbar. The ball cannons back into play and Norwich survive.
34' Norwich put their bodies on the line to stop Brighton testing Krul as Gibson bravely blocks Moder's shot. The hosts eventually pump the ball clear.
32' Dunk stands his ground against Sargent, blocking the American's header from Giannoulis' cross. Pukki wants a free-kick as he falls over just outside the box in the build-up but the referee isn't interested. Norwich settle for a corner which is easy pickings for Sanchez.
31' Gross' free-kick from the left causes a few jitters in Norwich's penalty area before Krul is able to gather the ball.
O. Kabak
Yellow Card
30' Kabak arrives late on Moder and trips the Polish international. The Turkish defender receives a yellow card.
28' Normann's corner is headed back to him but the Norwegian's cross is blocked. Kabak's effort from range is stopped too and Sanchez catches Hanley's header as the centre-back chanced his arm by staying forward. These are encouraging signs for Norwich.
27' Cucurella powers forward and has his run stopped by Lees-Melou. Norwich counter and Pukki earns a corner as Burn slides in to prevent him finding Sargent in the centre.
26' Norwich work their way upfield and Lees-Melou sends a cross in from the left. Duffy gets a foot to it before Pukki can.
A. Lallana
Yellow Card
24' Lallana's the next Brighton player to be booked for pulling down Pukki. It's a strange tactic as the Finn isn't the fastest striker in the Premier League.
23' Trossard wriggles free to send a ball towards Norwich's box and Hanley heads it clear. Brighton keep up the pressure. Maupay enters the box to round Krul but tumbles to the turf, apparently caught by Krul's foot. Krul reacts furiously at what he sees as a dive. VAR takes a quick look and finds in Krul's favour. Maupay isn't booked though. It's a let-off for Norwich.
21' Brighton get forward and win another corner of their own. Norwich fluff the header clear and Lallana blasts a shot into the turf from the edge of the box, forcing Krul to make an awkward save. The visitors try to bundle the ball over the line and Krul gathers at the second attempt.
20' Normann fires the corner towards Gibson at the near post. Veltman heads it out for another corner. This time Normann's delivery is helped on by Sargent and caught by Sanchez.
19' Giannoulis races onto a pass down the left and forces Gross into giving away a throw-in. Norwich eventually force the corner.
18' Gross sends a dipping ball towards the near post which Gibson puts out for a Brighton throw-in. Cucurella takes it and Norwich block Trossard's attempted cross.
17' Kabak's penalised for charging in on Moder near the touchline, causing the Pole to cry out in pain. Brighton are awarded the free-kick.
16' Giannoulis' free-kick into the box is too high and is an easy catch for Sanchez. Norwich are growing into the game.
J. Veltman
Yellow Card
15' Veltman gets the game's first yellow card for pulling Pukki back on the ball.
14' Brighton get the ball out but only as far as their own defensive third. Normann has a speculative effort blocked by Duffy.
13' Normann sends a high ball towards Pukki but the Finn can't win the header against Duffy. Norwich keep the ball and Sargent sends Sanchez scrambling across his goal, shooting on the turn from outside the box. It took a deflection so Norwich will get a corner.
11' Cucurella beats his man but can't keep the ball in play down Brighton's left. Both teams are still very much scoping each other out.
10' Norwich begin to string a few passes together without getting anywhere in particular. Eventually they give possession back to Brighton.
9' Brighton earn the first corner of the game down their right. Duffy heads high and wide.
7' Play resumes as Trossard now has his arm bandaged up. He still doesn't look entirely comfortable but he'll soldier on for now. He did land awkwardly when he fell in that clash with Lees-Melou.
5' Trossard's shot from the left of the box is blocked. There's a coming together between Lees-Melou and Trossard as the Belgian blocks Lees-Melou's run. The referee stops play and Trossard undergoes treatment. He looks to have injured his right elbow.
3' Sargent looks to latch onto a pass forward but the American is unable to get a clear shot at goal as Dunk shuts the door. Brighton race up the other end and Krul drops low to stop their cross-cum-shot.
2' The game gets off to a scrappy start as Brighton get settled on the ball. Lallana floats a pass over the top and Krul ventures out of his goal to claim it.
1' The referee blows his whistle and Brighton get this match underway!
The teams come out onto the pitch at a noisy Carrow Road. Both Norwich and Brighton will play in their preferred colours: Norwich in yellow and green, Brighton in blue and white.
Norwich lost both of their Premier League games with Brighton when these two teams last met in 2019-20, with Brighton winning 1-0 at Carrow Road that season. However, Norwich have lost just two of the sides' previous 13 league meetings, while the Seagulls haven't won back-to-back visits since October 1926. Will the Canaries' season finally take flight or will the Seagulls stay soaring?
Norwich are unchanged from their dour draw away to Burnley as Farke keeps his faith in the same 11. Brighton are also unchanged from their own 0-0 draw away to Arsenal last time out. They'll have to cope without Danny Welbeck for the rest of 2021 due to a hamstring injury.

BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION (3-5-2):  Robert Sanchez; Shane Duffy, Lewis Dunk (c), Dan Burn; Joel Veltman, Pascal Gross, Adam Lallana, Jakub Moder, Marc Cucurella; Leandro Trossard, Neal Maupay.
SUBS: Christos Tzolis, Milot Rashica, Kieran Dowell, Angus Gunn, Brandon Williams, Lukas Rupp, Andrew Omobamidele, Billy Gilmour, Adam Idah.
NORWICH CITY (3-5-2): Tim Krul; Ozan Kabak, Grant Hanley (c), Ben Gibson; Max Aarons, Pierre Lees-Melou, Mathias Normann, Kenny McLean, Dimitrios Giannoulis; Joshua Sargent, Teemu Pukki.
Brighton have been the surprise package of the season so far, sitting sixth in the table having lost just one of their first seven games. Only Chelsea and Manchester City have conceded fewer goals than the Seagulls' 26 in 2021. They'll fancy their chances of ending their trip to Norwich intact in this battle of the birds.
Bottom-of-the-table Norwich finally got their first point on the board last time out as they battled to a 0-0 draw away to Burnley, ending their 16-game losing streak in the Premier League. Now Daniel Farke's Canaries will be looking to pick up their first win of the season as they host Graham Potter's Brighton.
