Juventus must recover quickly from this chastening defeat, as in-form Lazio await in next week's Coppa Italia quarter-finals. Monza, meanwhile, will have plenty of time to celebrate their success before tackling Sampdoria next time out, on February 6.

Completing an historic double over Juventus in their first-ever Serie A season, Monza back up some clinical first-half finishing with a dogged defensive effort after the break to move above their hosts in the standings. Beaten by a better-organised and more motivated side, the Bianconeri sink to a new low with their first league loss at home since last April; Allegri has been outsmarted again by former Juve player, Palladino. The Biancorossi, meanwhile, stretch their unbeaten run to six Serie A games in spectacular style, and they will have designs on a top-half finish in June.

As Juventus have to press for a goal to force their way back into this match, Monza will surely benefit from some chances to counter-strike during the second half. While not possessing stars such as those available to Allegri, Palladino has a strong bench to call upon too, so Juve's woes may not be over. Following Sassuolo's thumping of Milan at San Siro earlier, perhaps it's to be a day for the underdog.

On the face of it, a major shock seems to be brewing in Turin, but Monza have simply been the better team today and fully merit their two-goal lead at the break. Having also seen another strike ruled out by the automated offside system, the Biancorossi demonstrated the greater cutting edge and were clinical when it mattered. Juventus, meanwhile, persist with their reactive style despite evidence that it's no longer bearing fruit - how soon will Allegri turn to Pogba, Vlahovic, et al?

11' NO GOAL! Caprari's delight is short-lived, as Monza see their opening 'goal' chalked off by the VAR for offside! Juve escape!

10' MONZA GOAL? After Biancorossi skipper Pessina slips the ball across for Caprari on the left side of the area, the latter takes a sharp first touch and then fires the ball home inside the left-hand post! The visitors celebrate, but the VAR is now assessing whether there was an offside!

7' Izzo scrambles well to deny Kean passage into the six-yard box from the left, and also stops the ball rolling behind for another Juventus corner.

5' After Rabiot makes progress through midfield and into the box, the ball breaks into the path of Kostic, who sees his 20-yard attempt blocked: it bobbles behind for Juve's second corner.

3' JUST WIDE! Both Gatti and Bremer narrowly fail to get an outstretched boot on Paredes' free-kick from the left, which flashes across goal and just zips wide of the right-hand post having taken a small deflection!

2' Having been clipped by Fagioli inside his own area, Mari goes down clutching his lower leg. A free-kick is awarded to Monza, and the Spanish centre-back is ultimately able to get back up and continue.

Monza, meanwhile, have far fewer fitness concerns than their hosts, and Palladino has had a virtually full squad to choose from. Mota starts up front rather than Petagna, while Rovella - on a season-long loan from Juventus - returns in midfield. Mari comes in for Marlon at the heart of the visitors' back three.

While Juventus make some changes to their starting lineup, the returns of Pogba and Vlahovic to the bench are Max Allegri's most eye-catching selections. Both have endured signficant layoffs through injury, and De Sciglio joins them back in action today. After conceding eight goals in two league games - following none in eight previously - Gatti replaces Alex Sandro at the back, while up front, Kean starts instead of Milik. Mid-table Monza are aiming to complete an improbable double over today's hosts, and they arrive in Turin having gone five games unbeaten in Serie A either side of the winter break. The Biancorossi remain on course to avoid relegation in their debut season among the Italian elite: after former Juventus winger Raffaele Palladino stepped into the dugout during the autumn, not only did his side seize that famous victory over the Old Lady but they have since steadily climbed the standings. Though they were held at home by Sassuolo last week, victory in Turin would now take them above their illustrious hosts in the table.

Still dealing with the fallout from their dramatic points deduction, which leaves them just ahead of today's opponents in the Serie A standings, Juventus start the game occupying an unfamiliar spot in the bottom half of the table. Docked 15 points only days after being thrashed by then title rivals Napoli, the Bianconeri played out a 3-3 thriller with Atalanta last weekend. They also reached the Coppa Italia quarter-finals earlier this month by beating Monza 2-1 - representing revenge for Juve's loss in Lombardy when the teams met in the league last September.
