    Similarly, Zinchenko was strong in the tackle and took no chances when caught in tight positions by clearing the ball from danger when necessary.

    Like Zinchenko on the left, Walker equally gave everything on a tough afternoon against Sean Dyche’s charges.

    The right-back was constantly on the move and full of running for the entirety of the game, consequently posing a different sort of threat to the Burnley defence. He was unlucky not to record an assist too when a big chance he created was spurned.

    Defensively, Walker won four of his five duels which capped off a pleasant performance.

    Solid Aymeric Laporte was impassable

    Manchester City knew the sort of physical test they’d face when they came up against Dyche’s men, so it was imperative to keep things tight at the back.

    Laporte demonstrated how City defended exemplarily, owing to a perfect outing in central defence. The Frenchman won every single duel (nine in total) against the Clarets and showed an impressive reading of the game by measure of his interceptions.

    Additionally, the centre-back cleared the ball from harm’s way a few times as well and won all three of his tackles as City limited the home side to just two attempts on goal all game.

    Just when it was starting to look like one of those days where the title will swing Liverpool’s way, Aguero delivered to secure three huge points for the Citizens, who moved back into first place.

    It was the Argentine’s 20th Premier League goal of the season, the fifth successive year he’ll cross the 20-goal mark, and it took him level with Sadio Mane and one behind Mohamed Salah in the race to secure the Golden Boot.

    Pep Guardiola was certainly delighted with his top striker who netted his first away goal in a month.
